It's Monday, What Are You Reading

Monday, April 19, 2010

OK people-I got nothin'!  I did not finish one book this week-I didn't even get halfway through one book this week.  I've decided I am going through a reading slump!  I'm STILL reading The Lacuna by Barbara Kingsolver.  I'm loving it-I didn't realize it was set in Diego Rivera/Frida Kahlo's Mexico.  I love both if them as artists, and Frida Kahlo was such an interesting woman, it's been really enjoyable.  I'm going to finish it, darn it...If only I didn't have so much schoolwork to do, and my fellow bloggers weren't so interesting!

Anyone else out there going through or ever been through a reading slump?  Did it resolve on it's own, or did you have to rededicate yourself to your TBR pile?  I fee like I should issue an apology to every book on my shelf right now!

  1. You sound like me. I wasn't even going to post for Monday, because I didn't finish anything, but I did write and post one review. Of course I have tons more to go.

Hope this week is better and you get out of your slump.

  2. I've been through reading slumps too. Sometimes ignoring my overflowing shelf of TBR books & picking up a totally new book at the store or library will help kick my reading pace back into gear. Lately I've been reading like crazy but seem to be in a reviewing slump. I may have to lock away all of my books until I catch up on posting reviews.

  3. Heather, I promise it will resolve itself. I've been through it. You just can't force it. It's like me and cleaning the house...sometimes I'm not in the mood and sometimes I am. lol But I eventually do get in the mood and it eventually gets clean.

Something will jump out at you. Maybe my list of books? Check out my strange array of titles. Ha ha

  4. Been there. In fact the last month has been one slump like that. Only one book finished for April so far. It will get better though.

  5. Sometimes I get that way too, where I just don't want to read...and then I wake up and the nightmare is over! ...just teasing! Maybe you need to find something light and fresh to read to get you back in the mood?
Thanks for stopping by my blog!

  6. I had plane time so I got quite a bit of reading done - but no worries, I will have times this year when I will barely get any books read. :)

Take a break - the books will call you back soon. :)
